What does Kaitiaki Mean ?

A kaitiaki is a person, group or being that acts as a carer, guardian, protector and conserver. We believe we have a responsibility to teach our children traditional values aligned to faith, culture, well-being and the environment.

Philosophy

At Kaitiaki Kids Childcare, each child is viewed as unique and valuable. We believe every child is a capable and an active explorer who develops and learns best through play. Our role as Kaiako is to create positive and stimulating environments to build and extend on our children’s interest and knowledge.

Building Expansion and Upgrade

We are very happy to be working on the expansion of Kaitiaki Kids Childcare. The new classroom will cater for an additional 26 children aged 3&4 yrs old. In addition to the classroom we will also be opening an amazing outdoor space.

Food and Nutrition

Kaitiaki Kids Childcare encourages a healthy eating environment. We consider that healthy food and beverage choices can enhance educational outcomes for our children, as such we are very happy to bring on board a cook who prepares nutritional meals

Stories about our children

At Kaitiaki Kids Childcare we love to share stories about our children, our curriculum is full of activities and fun and also includes the celebration of our special events including pacific language weeks, birthdays and graduations.

About Us

Kaitiaki Kids Childcare (formally Play N Learn) is an Early Childcare Education (ECE) Facility based in Otahuhu, Auckland. The foundation of Kaitiaki Kids Childcare is based on Christian values and principals, where we believe our children are a blessing and gift from God.
